Las medidas extraordinarias de distanciamiento social provocadas por la crisis mundial del coronavirus han modificando de manera inaudita e impensable nuestras relaciones humanas y afectivas, cuestionando profundamente nuestra normalidad. Renacer sanados y más comprometidos con el mundo que habitamos se nos muestra hoy indispensable. Ha llegado el momento de echarnos una mano. 

ÉCHAME UNA MANO - GIVE ME A HAND muestra los resultados de la l Convocatoria Internacional de Arte Postal o Mail Art, lanzada desde la Concejalía de Cultura del Ayuntamiento de Móstoles. Una Convocatoria que pone en valor la importancia terapéutica y sanadora de la creación, mostrando la consideración que siempre debería poseer el arte como bien de primera necesidad. 

Las más de 450 obras recibidas, por correo postal u online, en el Centro Cultural Villa de Móstoles, tras la Convocatoria lanzada en el mes de septiembre de 2020, ejemplifican extraordinariamente la enriquecedora práctica y experiencia de esta experimental (in)disciplina. Decenas de respuestas remitidas por artistas postales y experimentales de todo el mundo, en forma de intervenciones plásticas y textuales sobre la “postal oficial” de la Convocatoria o con obras más libres, relacionadas siempre con el tema y lema de la misma: ÉCHAME UNA MANO - GIVE ME A HAND.

Países como Portugal, Francia, Italia, Alemania, Gran Bretaña, Holanda, Bélgica, Dinamarca, Suiza, Suecia, Noruega, Finlandia, Polonia, Rusia, Rumanía, Eslovaquia, Croacia, Macedonia, Turquía, Estados Unidos, Canadá, México, Argentina, Brasil, Uruguay, Venezuela, Costa Rica, Colombia, Singapur, Taiwán, India, etc., además de decenas de ciudades y municipios de España, están representados por sus artistas en ÉCHAME UNA MANO - GIVE ME A HAND.

La tradicional libertad y horizontalidad del Arte Postal o Mail Art posibilita que cualquier persona, considerado o no artista, lo sea puntualmente para dicho empeño, al mismo nivel que cualquier creador internacionalmente reconocido, hecho que ha permitido, por ejemplo, la participación en la Convocatoria de un grupo de alumnos/as del IES Manuel de Falla de Móstoles, de otro del Colegio Padre Manyanet de Alcobendas o de los/as participantes en el Taller de POEX, Poesía Experimental y Acciones Poéticas, de la Biblioteca de Berja en Almería.

The extraordinary measures of social distancing caused by the global crisis of the coronavirus have modified in an unprecedented and unthinkable way our human and emotional relationships, deeply questioning our normality. To be reborn healed and more committed to the world we inhabit is essential today. The time has come to give us a hand.

ÉCHAME UNA MANO - GIVE ME A HAND shows the results of the l International Mail Art Call, proposed by the Culture Area of the Móstoles Town Council.A Call that values the therapeutic and healing importance of creation, showing the consideration that art should always have as a first necessity.

The more than 450 works received, by post or online, at the Cultural Centre Villa de Móstoles, extraordinarily exemplify the enriching practice and experience of this experimental (in) discipline. Dozens of responses sent by postal and experimental artists from around the world, in the form of plastic and textual interventions or freer works on the “official” postcard Call, always related to its theme and motto: ÉCHAME UNA MANO - GIVE ME A HAND.

Countries such as Portugal, France, Italy, Germany, Great Britain, Holland, Belgium, Denmark, Switzerland, Sweden, Norway, Finland, Poland, Russia, Rumania,Slovakia, Croatia, Macedonia, Turkey, United States, Canada, Mexico, Argentina, Brazil, Uruguay, Venezuela, Costa Rica, Colombia, Singapore, Taiwan, India, etc., besides dozens cities and towns in Spain, are represented by their artists in ÉCHAME UNA MANO - GIVE ME A HAND.

The traditional freedom and horizontality of Postal Art or Mail Art makes it possible for any person, considered an artist or not, to be an artist forsuch purpose, at the same level as any internationally recognized creator, a fact that has allowed, for example, participation in the Call from a group of students from the Manuel de Falla Secondary School in Móstoles, from the Padre Manyanet School in Alcobendas or from the participants in the POEX Workshop, Experimental Poetry and Poetic Actions, from the Berja Library in Almería.

ÉCHAME UNA MANO

I Convocatoria Internacional de Arte Postal

Las medidas extraordinarias de distanciamiento social provocadas por la crisis mundial del coronavirus han modificando de manera inaudita e impensable nuestras relaciones humanas y afectivas, cuestionando profundamente nuestra normalidad. Renacer sanados y más comprometidos con el mundo que habitamos se nos muestra hoy indispensable. Ha llegado el momento de echarnos una mano. 

● TEMA: ÉCHAME UNA MANO - GIVE ME A HAND 

● FORMATO: Tarjeta postal o plantilla troquelada. / Intervención libre utilizando la plantilla de la silueta de una mano (troquelada o en tarjeta postal), adjunta a las presentes bases de la I Convocatoria Internacional de Arte Postal ÉCHAME UNA MANO - GIVE ME A HAND, o partiendo de cualquier otra silueta de mano similar. 

● SOPORTE y TÉCNICA: Libres (papel, cartulina, cartón, madera, tela, plástico, dibujo, pintura, fotografía, collage, caligrafía, grabado, serigrafía, etc.)

● TAMAÑO MÁXIMO: 15 x 21 cm. / Troquelado o sin troquelar.

● FECHA LÍMITE: 31 de Octubre de 2020. / Todo lo recibido con posterioridad a dicha fecha será descartado. / Para los envíos recibidos por correo postal, se tendrá en cuenta la fecha del matasellos.

● DIRIGIDA a: Artistas y público en general. 

● EDICIÓN: Todas las obras recibidas formarán parte de la revista ensamblada, experimental y rara PERIFERIA IMAGINARIA nº3, tanto en su edición física de tirada limitada, contenidas en un USB, como en su edición online, colgada en: https://periferiaimaginaria.blogspot.com  

● MUESTRA: Con posterioridad a su inserción en PERIFERIA IMAGINARIA nº3, todas las obras recibidas quedarán depositadas en los fondos de arte contemporáneo del Ayuntamiento de Móstoles (Madrid, España), realizándose una muestra o visionado final de las mismas, durante la presentación de la revista, del 16 de noviembre al 14 de diciembre de 2020, en el Centro Cultural Villa de Móstoles.

● ENVÍO: Los trabajos pueden enviarse tanto por CORREO POSTAL tradicional (preferiblemente sin sobre, debidamente franqueados y siendo el soporte la propia obra), como por envío ONLINE.

I International Mail Art Call

The extraordinary measures of social distancing caused by the global crisis of the coronavirus have modified in an unprecedented and unthinkable way our human and emotional relationships, deeply questioning our normality. To be reborn healed and more committed to the world we inhabit is essential today. The time has come to give us a hand. 

● THEME: ÉCHAME UNA MANO - GIVE ME A HAND 

● FORMAT: Postcard or die-cut sheet. / Free intervention using the stencil of the silhouette of a hand (die-cut or stamped postcard), attached to these bases of the I International Mail Art Call ÉCHAME UNA MANO - GIVE ME A HAND, or starting from any other similar hand silhouette.  

● MATERIAL and TECHNIQUE: Free (paper, cardboard, pasteboard, wood, fabric, plastic, drawing, painting, photography, collage, calligraphy, engraving, serigraphy, etc.) 

● MAXIMUM SIZE: 15 x 21 cm / Die-cut or otherwise. 

● DEADLINE: 31st October 2020. / Anything received after that date will be discarded. / For material received by post, the date of the postmark will be taken into account. 

● PARTICIPANTS: Artists andanyone who wishes to participate. 

● EDITION: All the works received will be part of the assembled, experimental and rare magazine PERIFERIA IMAGINARIA nº3, both in its limited physical edition, contained on a USB stick, and in its online edition, posted at: https://periferiaimaginaria.blogspot.com 

● EXHIBITION: After being inserted in PERIFERIA IMAGINARIA nº3, all the works received will be deposited in the contemporary art funds of the Móstoles City Council (Madrid, Spain), with a final exhibition or viewing of them during the presentation of the magazine, from the 16th November to 14th December 2020, at the Villa de Móstoles Cultural Centre. 

● SUBMISSION ADDRESSES: The works can be sent both by traditional POST (preferably without an envelope, the support being the work itself, duly franked), and ONLINE.
